“Our Diocesan Catholic Social Services offices serve our sisters and brothers throughout the 11 counties of our Diocese, providing primarily to the poor and marginalized a variety of much needed services, including: soup kitchens, emergency shelters, housing, free health clinics, adoption services, veterans assistance, family counseling, Hispanic ministry and more.
In addition to serving the poor, the needy and the vulnerable through Catholic Social Services, the Appeal also continues to support a variety of ministries and programs that are vital to the mission of the Church:
- Caring for retired priests and funding the ongoing formation of priests, permanent deacons, seminarians and deacon candidates.
- Offering faith formation programs for those preparing for marriage, youth and young adults, the deaf and persons with disabilities, people who are grieving Spreading the Gospel message far and wide, and keeping everyone informed and connected through media such as The Catholic Light, CTV: Catholic Television, and the Diocesan website.
- Educating the next generation of servant-leaders in a spiritually sound and academically challenging environment in our Diocesan Catholic schools and in parish-based religious education programs”
